Award Regulations and Jury

Preamble

  • Golden Cyborgs are awarded by the Chapter of the Golden Cyborg award (the Golden Cyborg Jury) operating under the patronage of the Telecommunications Section of the Electronics and Telecommunications Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Polska Akademia Nauk).
  • Golden Cyborgs and ICT Leader diplomas have been awarded continuously since 1998, and their originator and founder is Sprint SA.
  • Golden Cyborgs therefore have a well-established position in the telecommunications environment. The award is prestigious and appreciated by both the academic and business community.

Award regulations (valid for the 2020-2024 term)

  1. The Golden Cyborg Awards are awarded annually for outstanding scientific, research, implementation and organizational and legal achievements related to broadly understood telecommunications and ICT for representatives of the scientific and business community.
  2. Proposals of persons or institutions nominated for the award may be submitted by the members of the Chapter and award winners from previous years.
    • The maximum number of awards granted in a given year is limited (due to the prestige of the award) to 3.
  3. The awards are funded by Sprint SA - the originator of the award.
  4. Golden Cyborgs are awarded to the winners during the National Telecommunications and Teleinformatics Symposium (or during other important events - in accordance with the modification of 2021).
  5. The list of the awarded persons is drawn up by the Chapter (the Jury), not later than one month before the date of the KSTiT

The Jury of the Golden Cyborg award includes:

  1. chairman of the Telecommunications Section of the Electronics and Telecommunications Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences - chairman of the Chapter;
  2. vice-chairmen of the Telecommunications Section - members of the Chapter;
  3. founder of the award - the president of the Sprint company or a person indicated by him - a member of the Chapter. These persons, who constitute the basic composition of the Chapter, may additionally propose to supplement the composition of the Chapter members with:
    • no more than 3 people representing the scientific community and
    • no more than 3 representatives of the business community.

The regulations for granting the award are approved by the Telecommunications Section of the E&T Committee Polish Academy of Sciences (usually at the beginning of the term).

In the 2020-2024 term, the Jury consists of:

  • Dr inż. Andrzej Dulka - President of the Polish Chamber of Informatics and Telecommunications (Polska Izba Informatyki i Telekomunikacji - PIIT), Vice-Chair of the Section;
  • Prof. Andrzej Jajszczyk - Ordinary Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Vice-President European Research Council (ERC);
  • MSc. Marek Kamiński - Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sprint S.A. - originator and founder of Cyborgs
  • Prof. Józef Modelski - Ordinary Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Radioelectronics, Warsaw University of Technology;
  • Prof. Krzysztof Wesołowski - Member of the Scientific Excellence Council (RDN), Vice-Chair of the Section;
  • Prof. Tadeusz Więckowski - Head of the Department of Telecommunications and Teleinformatics at the Wrocław University of Technology;

under the leadership of:

  • Prof. Józef Woźniak - Chairman of the Telecommunications Section in the Committee of E&T Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN).
